A dingbat or dingbat font is a font made up of pictures, symbols or icons instead of letters and numbers.
Here is a source to download the dingbat fonts: the Dingbat pages
I recommend the Florals and Ornaments categories.
Here are some dingbat fonts that I like and that are freeware or postcardware. See the text file that comes with each font for usage allowed.
Please respect the font creators' wishes regarding usage of their fonts.
Florals 2 - freeware by FontFreak
Flower Ornaments - freeware by FontFreak
Ornaments 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 -all are postcardware by Listemageren
After rereading the text file with the fonts from Listemageren, I learned I can freely distribute his fonts as long as I include the text files he wrote.
These are all zipped files of the Ornaments fonts that I downloaded from the Listemageren site. I have posted them here for your convenience.
Download and unzip your new fonts to a folder - not your /Windows/fonts/ folder. We are trying to save resources by NOT installing the fonts.
Open the folder containing the font(s) you will use. Left doubleclick on the font file you like and a window showing the font characters will appear. Minimize this window. Close the other windows you had open and return to PSP7. The font will be available to any program that uses fonts as long as its window is minimized. You can get back to the tutorial now.
PSP7 tool icons are from MaMaT's icon tubes.
"PSP" refers to
CorelTM Paint ShopTM Pro®.
